The Emiliano Zapata Academy project consisted of the construction of a two-story annex with 12 standard classrooms, three Pre-K classrooms, a computer lab, administrative offices and a lunch/multipurpose room. The scope of the project also included renovations to the existing building, the removal of a modular building, and the installation of a new playground and turf play field.
CCC served as the project manager for the project. The critical element of this project was that it had to be constructed under difficult site conditions where an existing modular building had to be demolished. CCC staff took over the construction oversight task after the previous project manager left with only two weeks departure notice.
One of the major achievements was the analysis of the project schedule to reduce the number of days to complete the project as well as to reduce the change order amount to $150,000. This project used sustainable design - LEED Silver certified project building. The total construction dollar value for this project was $16 Million.
The CCC Team was the recipient of the 2013 Construction Project of the year for Construction oversight of the Rogers Elementary School renovation project.
